Synchronised Swimming is a mixture of dance, gymnastics and swimming. It is a great way to get fit, strong and flexible and build your mental skills. It’s also a great way to make new friends and have fun.

You first need to learn basic skills of sculling, moving in the water and positions and figures. Then you put this together to do dance routines in the water to music which is played through underwater speakers.

Erith Synchro Section was formed in 2001 to compliment the lane Swimming Section of the Club. It was initially coached by Sam Finch and Lisa Burdett who were ex National Synchronised Swimmers.  The Section is now coached by Jenny, Sarah and Steve.  Our present Section ranges from 7 to 25 years of age. We have two groups: Cygnets our Learn to Synchro Group, Swanlings our more skilled and experienced swimmers, and Swans our established skilled swimmers. We swim at White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley and Erith Leisure Centre.

We welcome new swimmers to try out this fun and challenging sport. If you enjoy swimming  then Synchronised Swimming may be for you. Your first session is free so come along and have a try.

For more info on the squad contact Jenny Kennedy via e-mail to synchro@edsc.org.uk. All Synchro Swimmers are expected to abide by the Synchro Squad Criteria.
