The squad coaches have just introduced a monthly recognition scheme called ‘SPOTTED.’  Under the right hand column on the Squads page each squad will feature a few words about a swimmer or swimmers that have worked hard, improved, competed for the first time, done something swimming related outside the club, etc.  The winners will each receive a certificate.  Check the Squads page to see if you’ve been spotted this month!

Meet Mobile - free App for Andriod and Apple devices

There is a new free app called Meet Mobile available to download HERE.  It has been trialled by Canterbury SC at their recent open meet, whilst EDSC are looking to use it at the White Horse League galas as well as our forthcoming open meets.  It enables you to follow a gala ‘live’ with real time results and points updates.  For more info watch THIS VIDEO.

It could be that we do not have your correct e-mail on our database.  All parents of swimmers (and swimmers above 16) are entitled to register for the Club’s free e-mailing service, which is often the first place to find up-to-date news of events.  Register now by sending your details to info@edsc.org.uk or speak to John Burdett on Tuesday or Thursday at the pool.

Team Stats, Club Records and Age Group Records

Click the EDSC logo to the top left.  Every current swimmer that has recorded times with the Club is included.  Swimmers can monitor their progress using graphs, print off their top times and browse results from any gala.  The latest Club Records and Age Group Records are also included, as are the Time Trials Standards (SCM = Short Couse Metres).

The Age Group Records are where records stand for each stroke and distance for every age group: 8 - 18yrs. The second type are simply called the Club Records. These are the overall fastest times for every stroke/distance regardless of age so as to show the absolute fastest swimmer that EDSC has produced.  Records are based on the swimmer’s age on the day.
 
The recent change to the Club Records is to make them more prestigious as an achievement, and a real goal to swimmers at the top end. All Club Record breakers get a free personalised EDSC towel - if you think you may have broken one or an Age Group Record please let your coach know.

Entries now open to EDSC’s first 2 open meets

The Club’s very first open meet will be taking place on Sunday 22nd September and is a 50m licensed sprint meet with medals for the top 3 in each age group and a trophy for the fastest overall swimmer in each age group that successfully completes all 4 50m events.  Download the entry pack HERE.

PLUS, our shared licensed meet with Dartford and District Swimming Club is also now open to entries. This offers a full programme of events across the fireworks weekend (3rd to 4th November). Download the entry pack HERE.

Swimathon 2013 - 27th and 28th April

Erith Leisure Centre are hosting the Swimathon 2013 for Marie Curie Cancer Care on the above date. Members may like to raise some much needed money for a fabulous charity. All you need to do is click on the link below and sign up to take part at Erith Leisure Centre.
