Congratulations...

Many congratulations to Lisa Burdett and Eileen Colman who recently passed their Judge Level 1 assesments. Both Lisa and Eileen put an enormous amount of time and effort into their courses and feedback froim their assessors was that they passed with flying colours. Well done to them.  

We have a number of other officials who are waiting to be assessed for various qualifications so good luck to them over the coming months. The Club are always in need of more qualified officials and are happy to provide all the training required, if this is something that you feel you can help with then please speak to me at any time You do not need to have been a Club swimmer to help out you just need to have an interest in the sport.

WINTER PRESENTATION DISCO, FRI 27TH JANUARY - 7.30PM AT BELVEDERE SPORTS CLUB

Tickets for this event are on sale every Tuesday and Thursday between 7 and 8pm.  It will be FREE for all swimmers that have won an award.  Otherwise tickets will be priced at £4 each or £10 for 3.  Please let us know if you can attend by ticking/crossing your name on the board.  All advance ticket purchasers will be entered into a free £50 cash prize draw.

EDSC is 100 years old!

2012 is the Club’s centenary so it’s never been a better time to be involved with one of the South East’s largest swimming clubs.  We’d love as many members as possible to be involved in the many special events we have planned.  Therefore, please note the following social dates in your diary and watch this space for further information:
- Friday 27th January 2012: Winter Presentation @ Belvedere Sports and Social Club. £4 (£12 family ticket) (details above)
- Saturday 4th February 2012: Pool Party @ White Oak Leisure Centre. £5 (to include floats, flumes and food)
- Sunday 13th May 2012: Summer BBQ @ Christ Church, Erith
- Friday 25th to Monday 28th May 2012: Germany 2012

Team Stats, Club Records and Age Group Records

Click the EDSC logo to the top left.  Every current swimmer that has recorded times with the Club is included.  Swimmers can monitor their progress using graphs, print off their top times and browse results from any gala as of this season.  The latest Club Records and Age Group Records are also included, as are the Time Trials Standards (SCM = Short Couse Metres).

The Age Group Records are where records stand for each stroke and distance for every age group: 8 - 18yrs, and you have to be the relative age at the year end to break the relevant record. The second type are simply called the Club Records. These are the overall fastest times for every stroke/distance regardless of age so as to show the absolute fastest swimmer that EDSC has produced.
 
The recent change to the Club Records is to make them more prestigious as an achievement, and a real goal to swimmers at the top end. All Club Record breakers get a free personalised EDSC towel - if you think you may have broken one or an Age Group Record please let your coach know.
